October has Arrived.
Eeek...Where did September go? I can't believe it is October 1st already. Wow! While summer is my favorite time of the year, I have to admit that fall is right there with it. Bonfires, sweatshirts, harvesting, pumpkins, scarecrows. You name it, I love everything about fall. It is also the perfect time to craft. So many beautiful colors in the fall.

4-H Cake
Here is a cake that my daughter made for her 4-H cake decorating project.
She used a combination of Royal icing and marshmallow fondant for the flowers. I think it turned out great!

Christmas in July
I'm doing some prep work for some Hot Chocolate Packet Sliders that will be sold at the Christmas craft fair in December. These will go on the front of the packets. Last year these sliders sold out in the first 10 minutes! Needless to say, I'll be making up lots of these!

Tie Birthday Card
It is a tie kind of day! I was needing more masculine cards in my stash, so I whipped up this birthday card with ties and embossed over it all with the Happy Birthday embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

Thank You Card
I haven't had much time for crafting but couldn't resist making up this cute little thank you card to participate in Freshly Made Sketches for this week's challenge.
The design was really fun to work with and made for a quick and easy card.
I will definitely be doing this one again!

Matchbook Mints (wedding)
My son got married just 2 weeks ago. One week later, my husband and I celebrated our 24th anniversary. How quickly time goes by. Seems like WE were just the newlyweds! Watching him get married to the love of his life was truly one of the best days of my life!
Here are some matchbook mints that I made for the wedding.
These are quick and easy to make.
Cut one piece of cardstock (I used glitter cardstock) 2" x 5"
Score at 4 5/8", 2.5", and 2".
Fold at score lines.
Insert one Lifesaver mint. Line up at the bottom.
Staple through mint and cardstock.
Fold down the top and tuck under the bottom.
Next, I taped on a piece of ribbon cut to size that said "Our Wedding."
They literally only took minutes to make! A quick, easy, and super cute project! I'll be tucking one of these away in the scrapbook along side the pictures with memories of their special day that I will always hold near my heart!

Acrylic Frame Post-It Note Holders
Here is another Post-It Note Holder.
This one is made from an acrylic frame. I got mine for $1 at Walmart.
I added the design paper insert in place of a picture. Next I taped the post-it note in place on the right side. Then added the flower on the other side. Last, I tied some lace on the top. A quick and easy project. I keep mine on my desk and use it daily!

Post It Note Holders
One of my favorite things to make is Post It Note Holders. They are quick and easy to make. They also sell well at craft fairs!
Here are the dimensions I use.
And a quick tip for scoring if you don't have one of those handy dandy Score Pal things is to use your paper cutter and a stylus. Just open your paper cutter and use that little groove thing!
Next, attach your designer paper, and then fold on score lines. Tape in your Post It Notes.
Lastly, attach your flower to the top. To make the paper flower, click HERE. Easy...peasy...and so much fun!

Wood burned Gourds
Woohoo..the sun is shining today. Little things make me happy. This past fall we grew some gourds in our garden for the sole purpose of drying and getting a chance to wood burn on them. Those gourds are still drying but thought I'd share a picture of the gourds my son wood burned last year.
I love when he puts the clear coat on it. It really brings out such a beautiful color of the gourd and leaves it with a pretty shine.

Paper Flower Tutorial
I love to make paper flowers, and these cute colorful flowers top them all! They are so quick and easy to make!
Use the flower punch to punch out 5 flowers.
Such a quick fun little project! If you give it a try, let me know. I'd love to hear from you!
Here are the supplies I used plus a hole punch that I forgot to get a pic of.
Layer the 5 petals up into one stack, and punch a whole in the center.
Next, use a spray bottle (mine is an old Stampin Up bottle filled with water), and spray a couple squirts on each petal.
Next, crumple the paper petal into a tight little wad.
Wait a few minutes and gently open each petal.
Allow them to dry for a bit, and then stack each of the petals into one stack again. At this point I added the smaller flower and brad. The brad will hold it all together.
I chose a cute little button to finish it off.
You can use whatever supplies you have on hand to make them each unique. I have used sequins, buttons, gems, etc!
